Michael Patrick "Turtle" Kelly

Bailey.........Michael Patrick "Turtle" Kelly, 58, passed away peacefully and into the presence of his Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2016, after a ten month battle with throat cancer. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 6:30 pm at Samaria Baptist Church, followed by visitation. Michael was a big guy with a big heart. He loved to cut up, joke and make others laugh. He spoke his mind and you always knew where you stood with "Turtle". He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael D. Kelly; paternal grandmother, Anne E. Kelly; maternal grandparents, H.C. (Bunk) and Bessie Morgan; and maternal uncles and aunt, Wilbur and Dixie Morgan and Kenneth Cone. Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Glover Kelly; daughters, Lora (Darren) Prevatte of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Mallory (Steve) Harvey of Wilmington; mother, Emily Morgan Kelly of Middlesex; grandsons; Brayden and Maddox Prevatte; brothers, Gene (Cindy) Vick and Tim Kelly of Middlesex; sisters, Michelle Jarrell of Wilson, Sharon Kelly and Karen Kelly of Middlesex; nieces and nephews, Mandy (Dwaine) Jones, Craven Whitley (Kari Pearce), Emily (Robert) Surles, Crystal Denton, Daniel Jarrell, Billy Jarrell (Jennifer Bonhan), Chris Jarrell, Eric Price; great-nieces and nephews, Brianna Jones, Liam Jarrell, Kennady Whitley; aunts and uncles, Faye Morgan Cone of Zebulon, Ted (Sandra) Morgan of Micro, Benny (Jeanette) Morgan and Louise Rizk of Middlesex; several cousins; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Ann Glover of Bailey; sisters-in-law Debra (Bill) Babb of Whitakers, Wanda Price of Wilson; and his beloved pets, Maggie, Roscoe and Tiger. The family will accept visitors during the visitation and other times at the home of Edward and Ann Glover.
