Merle Travis Cale

SPRING HOPE – Merle Travis Cale, age 88, passed away on September 16, 2025. Born in Bertie County, NC, on August 10, 1937, he was the son of late William Odie Cale and Belva Parker Cale. Along with his Parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Cale; his daughter, Teresa Watkins; his son, Ryan T. Cale; and his sister, Ruth Parker.

Merle is survived by his son, William Cale and wife, Peggy of Smyrna, NC;  his grandchildren, Anna Munna, Ryan Watkins, and William Cale, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church 111 N Walnut Street, Spring Hope, NC 27882. Burial will follow the service at Oakdale Cemetery, Spring Hope, NC. A visitation with the family will be from 1 PM until 1:45PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church.
