RALEIGH………Ivenia W. Hathaway passed away peacefully on September 5, 2020 at Transitions Life Care of Wake County.
She was the daughter of Cleveland and Zula Wells of Wilson County. She married Charles Hathaway of Spring Hope in 1962 and had 56 years of a great marriage filled with love. Ivenia and Charles entered many ventures together, including the opening of a ladies dress shop in Spring Hope named Chartells. Later on as he moved up the ladder with Farm Bureau Insurance Company, they moved to Raleigh where Charles became the State Sales Manager. After a short stent in Raleigh, he was promoted to Sales Manager of Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company in Jackson, MS. They lived in Jackson for approximately 18 years and eventually became CEO of the company. They retired in 1998 and moved back to Raleigh, NC to spend the later years near their family. Charles passed away in 2019 and Ivenia joined him on September 5, 2020. God has blessed both of them.
A private graveside service will be held for Ivenia in Spring Hope and we hope to celebrate her long and happy life with a memorial service at a later date.
