JAMES EDWARD DENTONSept. 28, 1932 June 22, 2014Spring Hope.James Edward Denton, age 81, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Wilson Medical Center.James served his country in the US Army. Following service he attended Altantic Christian College (Barton College) graduating with a teaching degree. He coached at Benvenue High School and then worked for the State of NC as the Director of Cottage Life and Recreation.A Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, June 25,2014 at 11:00 am at Oak Dale Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Moore will officiate.James was preceded in death by a son, Edward Russell Denton.He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Annie Vince May Denton of the home and daughter, Jamie Denton Canady and son-in-law James Lee Canady of Hampstead. He is also survived by his step-granddaughter, Mary Frances Moody and husband Daniel and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 6:30 until 8:30 pm.The family is being served by Spring Hope Funeral Home.
