Nelms, age 82, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion FWB Church with the Rev. Howard Kendrick officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at 12:30. Entombment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Benjamin and Anna Cooper Brown; her husband, Marvin Earl Nelms; daughter, Mary Viverette; sister, Etta Jones and brother, Earl Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Bass and husband, Tim, of Momeyer; Susan McLean and husband, Danny, of Battleboro; sons, Ben Nelms and wife, Janet, of Rocky Mount, Richard Nelms of Spring Hope, John Nelms of Nashville; brother, Harold Brown of Rocky Mount; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mt.
